New Works

Staged Readings

New Plays, Works readings

The New Works Series: Staged Readings of Plays in Progress is now in its third season at Bennington Theater. Local actors perform original plays, scripts in hand, after just six hours of rehearsal. Some are read aloud; others, like tonight’s, are enhanced staged readings.

Readings are a vital part of developing new plays and nurturing playwrights. A script isn’t a play until it’s seen, heard, and brought to life by actors.

Readings are the first step — a chance to experiment, discover what works, and trust the audience.

Most importantly, these readings connect us with you. Bennington Theater belongs to this community. We invite you to join us on the journey!

Admission is free! Your support through donations helps bring new works to life
